Speakers include:

  • Michael McGovern, President of Innovation Ohio

  • Dr. Camilla Curren, Internal Medicine

  • Dr. Laurel Barr, Emergency Medicine

  • Dr. Erika Boothman, OB/GYN

WHAT: A press conference on the impending reconciliation budget and other votes in the U.S. Senate

WHEN: Wednesday, May 20  at 11 AM

WHERE: John W. Bricker Federal Building: 200 N. High St. Columbus, OH 43215

WHY: Doctors from across Ohio say Sen. Husted should vote to fund exam rooms, not ballrooms. The Senate is currently considering allocating $1 billion for President Trump's unnecessary ballroom. Since being appointed to the Senate by Gov. DeWine, Husted has toed the MAGA line and signaled he’d be willing to support the request.

Everyday, doctors see the impact of MAGA Republicans choosing to enrich their billionaire backers at the expense of Ohioans. Last year, Husted voted to slash $1 trillion for health care to give tax cuts to the wealthy and pad the profits of his big pharma donors. The Big Ugly Law has already ripped health care from 113,000 Ohioans and could strip coverage from an additional 356,000, according to the Urban Institute. Nine Ohio hospitals are at risk for closure. With this vote, Husted has a chance to put Ohioans’ well-being over Trump’s ego.
